Bernardo Bizzo, Tessa Cook and Paul Yi will cover what you need to know about identifying and mitigating biases in these potential gamechangers for radiology, including considerations for clinical and informatics leaders in radiology building AI initiatives.

Learning Objectives


At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the APDR recommendations and how these recommendations can be shared with stakeholders to garner buy-in and support for program changes.
  • Recognize the change management steps outlined by the University of Pennsylvania to incorporate changes to implement APDR recommendations in their program.
  • Identify some tools, including new modules and the ACGME procedural log available to programs to aid in training and success metrics.

Daniel DePietro, MD Daniel DePietro, MD 
Dr. DePietro is an interventional radiology at the University of Pennsylvania with a strong interest in undergraduate and graduate medical education. While at Penn for both medical school and residency, Dr. DePietro was involved in numerous educational endeavors, ranging from integrating radiology into the medical student curriculum to developing web-based modules to assist residents in learning chest CT. He received additional training in medical education as part of Penn's TEACH medical education track and as a medical education fellow.  
Catherine Everett, MD, MBA, F°ϲʹ
Catherine is a 1972 summa cum laude graduate of Duke University. She attended the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and completed residency and fellowship at NC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. She is in private practice at Coastal Radiology in New Bern, NC where she has served as practice president, and chief of staff of Carolina East Medical Center.  She obtained her MBA at Yale SOM in 2010. She has served as president of NCRS, on the Council Steering Committee, and is currently on the Board of Chancellors of the °ϲʹ. She is Treasurer of AAWR.  Her practice is part of Radiology Partners, where she serves as Associate Chief Medical Officer in Practice Analytics.
Daniel Rodgers, MD
Dr. Rodgers is an MSK-trained general radiologist who serves as president of Kanawha Valley Radiologists, a small private practice in Charleston, WV. He is also the current president of the WV Radiological Society and chair of the Economics Committee for the °ϲʹ's Commission on General, Small, Emergency, and Rural Practices, in addition to serving on the °ϲʹ Council Steering Committee.

Mary H. Scanlon, MD, F°ϲʹ Mary Scanlon, MD, F°ϲʹ
Mary Scanlon, MD F°ϲʹ, is a clinical professor of radiology at Penn medicine and the Vice chair of Education. She has been Program Director for Diagnostic Radiology since 2006. Two years running (2022&2023) Penn has been named Best Radiologist Training Program by Aunt Minnie. Her research interests center on radiology education and new ways to reach Gen. Z and millennials.

She is president of APDR (Association of Program Directors and Radiology), APDR counselor to °ϲʹ and has just finished chairing a national task force on how to ensure that resident training meets the procedural needs of the populations we serve.

She is passionate about organizational and political activism.  She is past president of the Philadelphia Roentgen Ray Society and Pennsylvania radiological society  and was the honor radiologist by both societies. She is the current faculty liaison to PRS RFS section. She was named 2020 °ϲʹ advocate of the year. She currently is a board member and treasurer for °ϲʹ's RadPac
