Ariadne DeSimone, MD, MPH, and Marina Moskalenko, MD — 2021–2022 Amis Fellows
What We Learned From the Amis Fellowship and Why We Recommend It
The 新澳门六合彩官网 E. Stephen Amis, Jr., MD, Fellowship in Quality and Safety provides an unparalleled opportunity for residents to learn from the best of the best about the intersection of radiology/radiation oncology and quality and safety.
Our fellowships began in November 2021 and included a week of meet and greets with various 新澳门六合彩官网® staff about the work they do as it relates to quality and safety. We were so impressed by how expansive the field is! We learned first-hand from experts in the following areas:
- 新澳门六合彩官网 Appropriateness Criteria
- Compliance
- Data Registries and Quality Measures
- Education
- Governance & Member Engagement
- Advocacy, Health Policy & Economics
- Incidental Findings
- 新澳门六合彩官网 Learning Network
- Legal
- Marketing, Public Affairs and Communications
- Peer Review & Peer Learning
- 新澳门六合彩官网 Publications
- Practice Parameters & Technical Standards
- Radiology Leadership Institute® (RLI)
- Reporting and Data Systems
We also had the chance to attend the 新澳门六合彩官网 2022 Annual Meeting — Dr. DeSimone played an active role in a reference committee and Dr. Moskalenko participated in the conference virtually.
Over the course of the year, we have successfully implemented what we learned at our own academic medical centers. The fellowship helped us jumpstart our careers and inspired us to think big as we contribute to the field and help others to do the same.
After participating in this yearlong fellowship, some of our key takeaways are:
- True north lies with our patients.
- Teamwork makes the dream work.
- Forge collaborations within and outside of radiology/radiation oncology.
- Use data to inform, bring about or facilitate positive change.
- Focus on value.
