Bipartisan U.S. Reps. Ami Bera, MD (D-CA), and Larry Bucshon, MD (R-IN), recently began circulating a “Dear Colleague” letter highlighting the financial uncertainty within the Medicare payment system and urging congressional leadership to act before the end of the year to ensure physicians can avoid drastic payment cuts in 2022.
The letter urges House leadership to extend the 3.75% increase to the conversion factor that Congress included in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 to provide continued stability to the provider community as it works toward broader Medicare payment reform. The conversion factor is the multiplier that Medicare applies to relative value units to calculate reimbursement for a particular service or procedure.
The broad 新澳门六合彩官网® (新澳门六合彩官网®)-led coalition of provider organizations continue to actively engage Congress about this critical issue. 新澳门六合彩官网 members soon will have opportunity to participate in a legislative “call to action” to contact their respective lawmakers.
