Congressional Action to Mitigate Medicare Payment Cuts Receives Bipartisan Support

Members of Congress from both major parties recently demonstrated their support for the physician and non-physician provider communities by sending two letters to Senate leadership urging congressional action to mitigate the 3.37% reduction to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) conversion factor (CF), which was implemented Jan. 1.

The first letter organized by the House doctors caucus, was signed by 88 representatives. The , led by Sen. John Boozman (R-AR) and Sen. Peter Welch (D-VT), was signed by 30 senators and sent to Senate leadership.
