The 新澳门六合彩官网® (新澳门六合彩官网®) has prepared impact tables that convey how the 2023 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) proposed rule affects payments for radiology related tests and procedures.
The rule would negatively affect many medical imaging payment rates if accepted without modification by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The College is working with other provider organizations to urge congressional leadership to mitigate the proposed 4.4% decrease to the conversion factor (CF) for CY 2023.
The tables cover specific changes in reimbursement rates and relative value units (RVUs) between calendar years 2022 and 2023 for each Current Procedural Terminology® (CPT) code. The 新澳门六合彩官网 analysis includes spreadsheets for the 70,000 series CPT codes and the non-70,000 CPT codes billed by radiologists, interventional radiologists and/or radiation oncologists.
The tables show that the reimbursement rate changes are larger than the proposed RVU changes due to the expiration of the 3% adjustment to the 2022 conversion factor mandated by the Protecting Medicare and American Farmers from Sequester Cuts Act as well as an additional 1.55% budget neutrality adjustment. If Congress does not intervene, imaging faces potential cuts greater than 10%.
Questions about the MPFS proposed rule impacts should be directed to Katie Keysor, 新澳门六合彩官网 Senior Director of Economic Policy.
