The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Provider Relief Fund (PRF) opened July 1. The Provider Relief Fund was established in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act to help with healthcare-related expenses or lost revenue due to the COVID-19 public health emergency. Providers who received payments exceeding $10,000 in aggregate April 10–June 30, 2020, must report in Reporting Period 1, and have until Sept. 30 to submit information as part of the post-payment reporting process.
PRF distributions began in April 2020. The federal government has allocated $178 billion for the PRF, and HHS has made both general and targeted distributions to providers.
