The 新澳门六合彩官网® (新澳门六合彩官网®) has named Amy K. Patel, MD, to lead the Radiology Advocacy Network (RAN). The RAN of the 新澳门六合彩官网 was created to assist radiologists in becoming more informed about, as well as more involved in, advocacy for radiology on a state and federal level. One of RAN’s primary goals is to get more 新澳门六合彩官网 members to contact their lawmakers about pressing legislation affecting radiology and its patients
Dr. Patel is a board-certified radiologist who specializes in breast imaging. She is Medical Director of the Breast Care Center at Liberty Hospital, a partner of Alliance Radiology and Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine.
Dr. Patel has been committed to advocacy for patients and the radiologic profession through both RAN and RADPAC® — the 新澳门六合彩官网 Association’s political action committee — since her residency. She is responsible for RAN’s social media presence and the incorporation of the RAN Young and Early Career Professional Section (YPS) and Resident and Fellow Section. Dr. Patel is the Immediate Past Chair of the YPS, serves on the RADPAC Board and is a former 新澳门六合彩官网 Rutherford-Lavanty Fellow in Government Relations.
Dr. Patel assumes leadership from Dave Youmans, MD, F新澳门六合彩官网. Dr. Youmans, who has led RAN for the last six years, was instrumental in its growth and increased advocacy to include state as well as federal issues. Under his leadership, RAN has assisted multiple states with legislative advocacy alerts on issues ranging from scope of practice to prior authorization. His tenure and dedication have paved the way for many young physicians to become involved in advocacy.
Dr. Patel will assume leadership at the conclusion of 新澳门六合彩官网 2022®, the College’s annual meeting.
